Lornalei C. Meredith

Lornalei, a founding partner of Meredith Sunia Law, is a local attorney having practiced in American Samoa for over a decade primarily in, probate and estate matters, civil litigation, business formation, and transactional law.

 

In 2012, upon graduating from J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University and passing the Utah State Bar, Lornalei joined the Office of Office of the Attorney General in American Samoa (“AG’s Office”) as an Assistant Attorney General. Lornalei was first a prosecutor prosecuting mostly misdemeanors in the Criminal Division of the AG’s Office. She later joined the Civil Division where she provided general counsel to various public agencies, departments, and offices, as well as represented the interests of the American Samoa Government in a diverse array of litigation matters. In 2016, Lornalei was promoted to serve as Chief of the Civil Division for the Office of the Attorney General and then subsequently promoted as the Deputy Attorney General in 2017.

 

Lornalei ventured into private practice in 2018 when she formed MTL Law with her former partner and in 2021 formed Meredith Law which then merged into Meredith Sunia Law in May 2022 when Lornalei joined forces with her former partner, Aitofele B. Sunia.

 

Lornalei is an active member of the American Samoa Bar Association where has served in various roles including president, treasurer, and secretary. Lornalei holds an Associate of Science in Health Science from the American Samoa Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah, and a Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University. Prior to law school, Lornalei taught English at the local Leone High School. She is admitted to practice law in American Samoa, and Utah (inactive). Lornalei enjoys traveling, baking, cooking and hanging out with family and friends.
